high and low blood pressure.

for high or low blood pressure, many cases treated with Chiropractic
show a reduction or elimination of blood pressure abnormalities through
the Natural approach of Chiropractic treatment.
There is no way to tell
what your reaction to Chiropractic treatment will be until you
make the decision to first
be examined by a Chiropractor. With your health and well being
at stake, isn't it worth finding out?
What is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is something
every living human being needs to enable to blood to flow to every part of the
body. There is no "right" blood pressure that applies
to all people, in fact, the average blood pressure reading is approximately
120 over 80. Even if you fall into this average, there will
be times when your blood pressure may run higher or lower based on
the time of day, emotional stress and even exercise.
Because many factors play
a part in your blood pressure, it is often found that the label
of high blood pressure
is imprecise. In 1971 the U.S. Public Health Service set the
standard for high blood pressure at any reading higher than 165 over
95, but in 1977 the medical community altered these standards to
140 over 90. According to Robert Mendelsohn, M.D., this alteration
made, "thirteen million more people eligible for antihypertensive
drugs."
The Medical Approach to Treatment The
medical communities view on blood pressure treatment is highly
controversial. Most
medical doctors utilize prescription drugs to lower blood pressure,
however many authorities
in the medical community believe that drug treatment ignores the
cause of the high blood pressure by simply suppressing the symptoms.
Because hypertension is
labeled as a disease by many in the medical community, most patients
feel pressured and scared
into taking prescription drugs to stabilize it. One physician
writes that, "ninety nine percent of physicians believe that
high blood pressure is a disease and not a symptom...I'm sure the
drug companies are doing their utmost to reinforce this drug theory
which has no clinical or scientific foundation...Perhaps physicians
should stop taking blood pressure and should start weighing people
and asking them about exercise, diet, smoking and work habits."
Side Effects of Medication
Inderal, Vasotec, Hydropres and other
medications are commonly prescribed by the medical community
to when an individual is diagnosed with blood pressure
problems. Some of the side effects of these medications are:
- Rash
- Hives
- Sensitivity to light
- Joint pain
- Confusion
- Loss of sexual drive
- Weakness
- Dizziness
- Lack of energy
- Numbness in the extremities
- Depression
- Anger
- Moodiness
- Muscle Spasm
The Chiropractic
Approach
Doctors
of chiropractic perform spinal adjustments to correct vertebral
subluxations or spinal nerve stress which disturbs the body balance
and nerve
health. Chiropractic does not treat blood pressure, however
many studies show that spinal care assists in lowering blood pressure
without drug intervention. One study of 200 patients showed
a 70% success rate in lowering blood pressure after spinal care.
Chiropractic
treatment is focused on removing all interference's of body function
by seeking out a more natural healing method. Before
submitting to drug therapy, proper exercise, nutrition, rest, emotional care,
and a healthy spine should be explored, as they are all essential to better
health and well-being. |
