Children's Needs

Many of us often have different levels of reality in our lives. Case in point Chiropractic and children. I have seen thousands of patients come into my office for various health conditions through the years. Many of these patients had children either with them, or they would speak about them while in the office receiving their own adjustments.

From how they spoke about them, or interacted with them in front of myself and my staff, it was obvious that they loved their children very much. Yet, with so many of these parents there existed a different level of reality regarding their children and their health. One VERY REAL reality was that as an adult, they had developed health conditions that they felt so concerned about that they would seek care in my office. The relief from their pain, and the restoration of their health impressed so many of these patients that they have continued their Chiropractic care through the years as part of a complete Wellness Program for themselves. The other level of reality for some parents, has been one that their child didn't need Chiropractic care.

With statistics from OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) such as each child receiving an average of 2,500 traumas before they reach the age of 7, how can we assume they could not benefit from a spinal check up?   Routine check-ups are as much a part of childhood than they are when we become adults. Is it a different level of reality that accepts the need to take a child for routine check-ups to ensure proper growth and development of their bodies-yet does not recognize the need to check if their child's nervous system is functioning properly. As with adults, many conditions are often subtle or hidden, allowing them to exist for years.
